A complex AI-based System that Knows How to Predict Security and Criminal Incidents that Occur in Oceans.


Marine controllers are involved, among other things, in resolving criminal incidents that occur in oceans and seas. State-of-the-art AI engine technology enables the detection of criminal incidents that take place at sea before they have even occurred. The current project deals with the characterization and design of the complex interface of the system, which the marine controllers use in their work.


The existing software, based on AI, has a lot of valuable information. However, the system’s screen had a problem of overload data, which created an incompetent interface. Moreover, we faced a technical challenge: since the system was loaded with information that the user needed to view simultaneously, the system was divided into two separate screens with two different browsers; This created an interface with unsynchronized assets, which created an interface whose various parts are not fully synchronized, which impaired the user experience.


After thoroughly studying the software, we identified a technical outlet that enabled the system to be displayed on a single screen, thus making all its parts synchronized and the interface becoming efficient and interactive. We cracked the answer to the many assets that needed to be displayed simultaneously with the help of an adaptive interface. The various parts of the system moved, contracted, and expanded according to the focus of cognitive attention in each situation and to the marine controller’s task.

The goal was to reduce the clutter and highlight the features and functionalities that were important for the users. The visual design now represents a clean and minimalist approach that focuses on the content. Furthermore, the new design improves the legibility of the system gradients. The data visualization is made extremely simple: the charts provide a quick and instant overview of the statistics that matter to the users. We have used unique and vibrant colors and charts to break the monotony of the map. These charts not only facilitate understanding but also grab the user’s attention instantly.
